The story of my mop and bucket
I mopped the floor of our milk room today. It’s crazy how something like a mop and bucket can bring back a memory.
I was new at being a single mom. I was poor. But God was at work, and my new business was about to rock our world.
We needed a mop for the barn. We didn’t have the money for a new mop. So I went on marketplace and found myself a used mop and bucket. I live way out in the country, and Matt, the seller, lived in Minneapolis. BUT he was dog sitting really close to my farm! So we met at a gas station 5 minutes from me.
I was always trying to find ways to save money, so I told Matt that I had the total in cash, or I had half in the form of soap. I told him about the benefits of goat milk soap, he told me how he was battling a tough case of eczema. He took the soap and I went home with my new to me mop and bucket!
A few months went by when I got a message from Matt. My soap had healed his skin, and he needed more. I gave him my website so he could order online. I just checked tonight, and and Matt has ordered 4 times! If I remember correctly, he likes my black amber 😀
As my online orders increased, I started getting orders outside of Minnesota. I had to email a customer about something, so I asked how she had found me. She told me she just had a friend visit. Her friend Matt (you guessed it) had sensitive skin and traveled with his special soap. So she had to try it.
it’s crazy how something so simple as a mop can make me so thankful for where we are today!
